Meet the Book Blogger Tag

Heyhhey, BookNerds! I was tagged by the amazing Kerri @ KerriMcBooknerd!! Kerri is such a friendly and amazing blogger so be sure to check out her blog!

Today I am doing the Meet The Blogger Tag!! Let’s go!

The Rules:

  • Nominated bloggers can nominate ten other bloggers.
  • Use the same questions from the tag.
  • Tag the original creator (Bibliomavens) and the blogger who tagged you

The Questions:

Who is your all-time favourite book character?

Ahh this so hard to answer because I never can just choose one! Recently I did do a post on my favourite MC’s from last year’s read though if that counts? Recent Favourite MCโ€™s! I’m going to say it counts, hehe, because any of these characters could be my answer!

If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)

I always always struggle with these types of questions because I can never just choose one!! I may steal Kerri’s answer here and choose The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern because it is so beautiful and you could spend months pulling out different things and discovering little bits and pieces from it!

Whatโ€™s your most unpopular book opinion?

Hmm, maybe that I think it’s fine to DNF a book you are not loving! Readers all have different views on DNF’ing so mine may be a bit unpopular with some bookish people. Most of my bookish opinions are more just about personal taste, tropes I love/hate etc…

Whatโ€™s your weirdest bookish habit?

I don’t think I have any that are weird? I tend to completely zone out when reading, and do not hear people talking or calling for me at all – it’s a problem ๐Ÿ˜‚. Other than that… maybe I’m a bit of a book hoarder? I don’t really get rid of my books – even if I didn’t love them i’ll still keep them on the shelf… I get very attached to my books ๐Ÿ˜‚.

What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?

I honestly have no idea who I would consider for this – someone who could navigate the chaoticness of my family would be sufficient ๐Ÿ˜‚. Also, I’m a terrible and awkward liar so I could only see this ending poorly – so definitely someone who could cover for my flailing! I can’t really think of an answer here, though I’d love to see who you think might fit this, or who you would have as your own fake partner!

What made you decide to start a book blog?

Hmm, well I’m the only reader in my family so I was reading a lot of books that I couldn’t discuss very much or very often and so I thought that if I started a blog I would be able to share my thoughts with other readers! I also wanted a space where I could ramble about books and connect with other readers in general, and a blog seemed like a good space to do this. Not to mention blogging has been great for some of my own skill building!

What about reading and books do you love the most?

Escapism. Definitely and irrefutably. I read to escape, to imagine I have left the world for a little while and gone on an adventure. However, I also love it when I read and something just clicks, this is something that I only ever really feel when reading! Plus, there is way more rep in my books than there are on my screen (though I have been getting better at finding more inclusive rep across media but it’s eeasiest with books).

What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?

Psychology! I’m currently an undergrad studying psychology at my lovely university. Specifically, I am studying Social Psychology, but I am really enjoying my other non-social modules. I’m hoping to go into the field of psychology after I graduate, I’ve been leaning towards Clinical Psychology recently as I would love to go into that field and help people! There are a lot of issues within the psychological field that I want to address within my own practices of it.

What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?

The Night Circus

All of them? You all recommend me so many fantastic books that I just fall in love with! Though because I never read them I was rec’d the Six of Crows Duology which I adored, read the Shadow and Bone trilogy, and watched the show because of how many of you told me you loved the world and its characters – and I did have to agree!

However, I would also have to say The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern maybe even tops this! I actually read this after being rec’d it and I fell so deeply in love with it that as soon as I finished it I felt like I had to go back and reread because I just felt so lost afterwards! It was that beautiful. I also bought it for a friend!

What is the book you shove down everyoneโ€™s throat?

Recently… I have been ever so slightly shoving The Jasmine Throne (Burning Kingdoms #1), by Tasha Suri down my lovely fellow reader’s throats. In my defence this is a gorgeous fantasy that I ADORED and cannot help but recommend to my fellow fantasy lovers. From the magic, to the characters, to the world, to the themes, everything about this book is just AMAZING. So really, I mean, I’m not to blame!

  1. Thank you so much for the tag, and it was great getting to know you a little better! I’ve been meaning to read The Night Circus ever since it came out, but haven’t managed to get to it yet. Almost everything I’ve read about it makes it sound so good!

  2. Thanks for tagging me! I enjoyed reading your answers. Jasmine Throne is on my TBR so it is good to know that it’s a book you recommend.

I can also relate to the reasons why you started a blog. I wanted a space to talk about books, and no one I am close to reads much either.

  3. I loved reading your answers. ๐Ÿ˜ I think The Starless Sea is a great book for when stranded as on every reread I think you would learn something new. Speaking of which, I really want to reread it! Social Psychology sounds so interesting and best of luck with your course. I think I read to escape as well… It can just take you away from your life and provide so much joy and comfort. I love it. Thank you so much for thinking of me to tag ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ
