Bookish Things And Thoughts (Part 8)!

Heyhey, BookNerds! I’m back again with another post in my Bookish Things And Thoughts series! A quick and fun one today exploring my own bookish moods! Let’s dive in and see if you experience these bookish moods too βœŒπŸ’œ

Previous posts in the series:

Book Gift!

As a Book lover, bookish person, book worm and so on, when gift-giving occasions come around and I’m asked about what I would like – naturally my only answer is books. So Imagine the heart-break when non-bookish family members reply with “books aren’t real gifts” 😭. Non-bookish people seem to think books are not proper presents and I have never been so offended in my life!?! Where did this foolish thinking come from? The real bookish struggle is getting people to realise that they are a superior gift!

Bookish Storage!

As in all book lovers lives, there comes a time when we realise, to our utmost horror, that we are running out of space on our bookshelves😲. A true nightmare for us all! And, of course, we find a solution … be it buying more book shelves or creatively creating book piles. However, non-bookish people have the audacity to recommend that I get rid of some of my books to make space?! I think not, I will continue to hoard my books until the day I become a restless spirit who returned with the unfinished business of completing my tbr.

Never Ending TBR!

Speaking of hoarding, I perpetually move between to very distinct moods. The first being the fear that there is not enough time in the world for me to get through my tbr! My TBR is practically never-ending with all these fantastic new releases popping up all the time! (…and I definitely do not ignore this tbr in favour of re-reads or new books that I freshly added to it…)

Not Enough on the TBR?!

The second mood I have is that I do not have enough books on the tbr! What if I run out?! This is, of course, completely and utterly irrational because my tbr is indeed monstrous, and viciously eyeing me for ignoring it in favour of new books. However, I still randomly get into this mood and go on a spree of adding more books to me tbr, again making me fall back into mood number 1. It is a cruel cycle of my own making.

Tell me, do you relate to any of these? Or do you have any other bookish moods and feelings? Let me know!

Happy Reading, BookNerds!βœŒπŸ’œπŸ“š

  1. Love this! How dare they say books aren’t real gifts? 😱 I haven’t had people tell me that but peole do not really buy books either so I don’t know if they’re trying to say the same thing. 🀣🀣🀣 For my close friends, it’s definitely because they say they have no idea what books to get.

I have to agree about the growing TBR. I’m scared to look at how many I have to read.

Low shelf space is definitely a scary matter! I need a new bookcase but I don’t know where to put it since my office is out of space too. We can visit each other’s libraries as spirits because I will also continue to hoard books. 🀣🀣🀣

    • Hehe thank you! I know right?! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ they are the BEST gift! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ honestly so few people will give them as gifts! I usually write a massive list for my family (after much convincing that I do want books as gifts) so they can choose random ones off of it (that way I am still surprised by what I receive). My friends usually gift me books they recommend to me – since they know my taste in books since they are bookish too!

Ahaha, the growing tbr is definitely our bookish monster!

So scary! Lack of space is the worst😱you’ll have to get creative πŸ˜‚. Yesss, our spirits can continue to bond over our love of hoarding books! πŸ€£πŸ‘»

  2. I’m nearly out of storage space for my books, and it’s absolutely horrifying! The holidays are around the corner and my husband knows to always get me books, so now I’m wondering how he’ll feel if I ask for his shelf space instead. Or in addition to. He doesn’t really use it…
