My Questions:

What was your last 5 star read?

My last 5 star read was The Jasmine Throne, by Tasha Suri.

Book Review: The Jasmine Throne (Burning Kingdoms #1), by Tasha Suri. Why? Well because this book is an absolutely gorgeous fantasy read that swept me off my feet. Suri tackles colonisation, patriarchy and dictatorship in this beautiful fantasy book and entwines the powerful storyline with stunning plant magic, sapphic mc’s who are powerful and clever, and a multiple pov structure that shows you just how rich and complex this world is. This book has everything I want in a fantasy, coupled with grorgeous prose.

Who are your favourite Indie/Self-Published authors?

A favourite Indie author of mine is EG Radcliff. I love Radcliff’s Celtic inspired fantasy series that starts with The Hidden King, followed by The Last Prince. The third book (The Wild Court) is about to be released and I am very excited! Radcliff has a compelling writing style that doesn’t shy away from the nitty gritty, and perfectly captures relationships between characters. This particular series really focuses on found family.

What is your most anticipated release of 2021?

I am impatiently waiting for the conclusion to The Tide Child Series by RJ Barker. I absolutely loved book 1: The Bone Ships and book 2: Call of The Bone Ships. Book 3 has yet to have it’s cover revealed, but will be called The Bone Ship’s Wake and I cannot wait to dive back into this seafaring, gritty, sea-dragon filled world! From the world to the characters, this series definitely had to be at the top of my anticipated list!

Do you have any pets? If yes, PLEASE post pictures!

I DO HAVE PETS! aha I personally own one chihuahua (as seen in the picture above!) but technically I have two chihuahua’s (my brother owns the other). My dog has the unfortunate habit of poking his head up under or over my books when I am trying to read though which is always a fun challenge, aha!

What would you consider to be your biggest blogging achievement?

Hmmm, I don’t really look at my blog in terms of achievement but I think building my blog and following has been an achievement for me overall, and connecting with the community and really getting involved with it has been my favourite thing I have achieved.

List some of your favourite blogs to read.

Do you enjoy non-fiction books? If yes, which types? and name some of your favourites.

I am more of a fiction reader, however, I do enjoy some non-fiction books. I prefer non-fiction that focuses on psychology or crime in particular. Two I read recently were: Book Discussion/Book Review: The Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil, by Philip Zimbardo, and Short Book Discussion/Book Review: Thinking, Fast and Slow, by Daniel Kahneman. I also like In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote (though this has some fictional elements mixed in).

My Questions for those I tagged:

  1. So since it is Pride month, what is your top LGBTQ+ book recommendation?
  2. What is your favourite genre to read, and why?
  3. Who are your top 3 book couples/ships?
  4. Who is your least favourite book villain, why?
  5. Who is your favourite LGBTQ+ author?
  6. Link three of your favourite blog posts written by another blogger!
  7. Which fictional character would you want as your best friend?
