Happy New Year Everyone, today I thought I would do a bookhaul post. Since I don’t buy many books through the year and instead use ARC’s, books I already own or I borrow books for my blog and in general, I don’t do bookhaul posts because there is not much point. But, Christmas is the time of year during which I receive books as presents, enough so that I can do a big book haul post! So I thought I would show you all what books I received this year! Let’s dive in!
Also apologies for my atrocious pictures! But, I am tired and had to balance them on my bed while my dog tried to inspect them so forgive me 😅😂!
The Greatest Showman (Michael Gracey, Signe Bergstrom). I love musicals, I loved this musical and conveniently my friend also loves musicals! So, she gifted me this absolutely gorgeous book with the behind the scenes info, original art and many other awesome things! I cannot wait to look through and read this one because it is so beautiful and interesting!
The Mortal Instruments Series, Cassandra Clare. So, I read this originally by borrowing them from a friend and haven’t re-read them since, and this was years ago now, and so I was gifted the series for Christmas and will be doing a re-read in the New Year!! I love this series so I am super excited!
Alongside the Mortal Instruments I also received The Infernal Devices! which I have never read, though am familiar with. I cannot wait to read these to since I have never had the opportunity!
Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy), I have heard a lot about Tolstoy, but never read any of his work nor have I seen any film adaptations of this particular novel. However, I am super interested in his work and look forward to tackling this big book!
All The Light We Cannot See (Anthony Doerr),I actually was recommended this book a few years ago during my A-Levels but never got around to buying or borrowing it. So I was delighted to have gotten a copy because it sounds like a wonderful story!
To Kill A Mockingbird (Harper Lee), unfortunately I never had the opportunity to study this novel at school and never got around to reading it myself. But, I have always wanted to since it is such an important book with hard-hitting themes. Therefore, I am thrilled to now own a copy!
The Wide Sargasso Sea (Jean Rhys),I love Jane Eyre and so I have been told many a time to read this book but I haven’t I really want to give this one a try but am a little nervous about it! Definitely interested to see how it plays out though.
The Handmaid’s Tale (Margaret Atwood), Another wonderful novel I never had the chance to read but have wanted to! I now have no excuse and cannot wait to read it since I have heard so much about it!
History Is All You Left Me (Adam Silvera), This one was another recommendation (I can’t remember who recommended it though) however, it sounds very interesting and I look forward to starting it!
A Tale Of Two Cities (Dickens), I love Great Eaxpectations, I like Dicken’s style and I enjoy classics and this one I have yet to read despite its popularity. But now that I own it I am very excited about reading it!
The Lies Of Locke Lamora (Scott Lynch), this is very popular and I have been dying to read it! The premise sounds so fun and interesting, the characters sound phenomenal and I cannot wait to experience this as soon as possible!
Stars Above (Meyer),I loved the Lunar chronicles but haven’t read any of the other books that are not in the main storyline so I am very interested in this one!
Red Rising (Pierce Brown), Another popular book that sounds extraordinary and I am so excited to read it and really hope I love it as much as everyone else!
A Gathering Of Shadows (V.E Shwab), So, I don’t own the first in the series (Will buy it after Christmas) but I definitely want to try this because I have never read anything by this author and yet I have heard great things! So I want to start this series as soon as possible.
The Final Empire-Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson) A series and author that I have heard glowing things about and I am so so excited to start this because it sounds amazing!
Letters To The Lost (Brigid Kemmerer), This book has had a lot of great things said about it and is outside of my normal genre (which is something I want to do more of) so I am interested in this one though it is meant to be quite sad!
Book Of Dust (Philip Pullman),Love His Dark Materials and so I cannot wait to read this, it sounds amazing and I am sure it will be!
Bridge Of Clay (Zusak), I really really love The Book Thief and his writing style so this one is one I have been waiting to read!
I Am The Messenger (Zusak),Another Zusak which I have heard a lot about and am equally interested in reading!
The Tattooist Of Auschwitz (Heather Morris), My friend recommended this to me a while ago and I hadn’t been able to get a copy but now I am excited to read it. It sounds like a great book and deals with a lot of hard-hitting topics and I cannot wait to read it and discuss it.
The Starless Sea (Erin Morgensten), This has been on my radar since before its release, I wasn’t lucky enough to get an ARC of this one and I was so sad about it because it sounded perfect for me. I am thrilled to have gotten this and it was an absolutely brilliant read!
Pet Semetary (Stephen King), This was actually a birthday present but I am including it here anyway. My brother got me this one since I recently read a few King novels and loved them. I am looking forward to this one which I have heard a lot about!
This was a big haul since it is the only time of year I will actively ask for books! I got a great mix from my family and friends and cannot wait to read them all!
